Locals reported giant hailstones measuring up to 7 centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been hit with significant hail.

Damp conditions were forecast to persist along large portions of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.

Tomorrow was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing severe weather risk predicted across various areas of both regions.
