Uche Ignites Dominant Crystal Palace Victory at Shelbourne.
Even though entering their maiden European campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are learning very quickly. Without key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding result that virtually guarantees them a place in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
A further victory in their upcoming match against Finnish KuPS should be enough to seal direct entry to the knockout stages, particularly following a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity
This match offered a platform for several Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, scoring for the second consecutive match.
The Shelbourne side that had finished their league season proved outmatched even for a mostly second-string Palace outfit. The Londoners were already depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg injuries.
Dominance Established from the Outset
In spite of torrential rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly established dominance. A slick passing sequence in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, allowed Nketiah to lay on Uche for a simple finish.

The home side were clinging on desperately. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to escape a booking for a couple of agricultural tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the woodwork with a powerful header from a corner.

The match was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring with his first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, indicating there is still scope for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
